MANNING – Lillian Blackmon Barwick, 73, widow of Gene Wilton Barwick, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence.
Born June 13, 1937, in Alcolu, SC, she was the daughter of the late Worth R. and Louise Richburg Blackmon. She was a retired insurance clerk and office manager, and a member of Clarendon Baptist Church in Alcolu.
She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Jones and her husband David of Florence; a son, Todd Barwick and his wife Mandy of Alcolu; four grandchildren, Brad Johnson and his wife Rachel, Zac Jones, Whitney Barwick, and Corey Barwick and friend, Brianna Yarbrough; three great grandchildren, Corey Greene, Desmond Johnson, and Gavin Barwick; special friend and sister-in-law, Esther Thomas of Manning; and sisters-in-law, Molly Blackmon, Ruby Bryant, June Blackmon, and Lois Poston.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Worth R., Wilbur A., and William “Gene” Blackmon; and two sisters, Margaret B. Morrison and Mary Belle M. Richburg.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010, in Clarendon Baptist Church, Alcolu, with the Rev. Kirk Carlisle officiating. Burial was in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Alcolu.
Pallbearers were Russell Harrelson, Dan McInnis, William Locklair, Stacey McInnis, Steve Lowe, and J. Eaddy. Honorary pallbearers were the nephews.
