NEWPORT NEWS,VA - Gary Dean Reinhart, 74, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010, at home. He was born in Neosho, Missouri and had resided in Newport News for the past thirty-two years.
Mr. Reinhart retired from Allied Signal as Group Director of Material in 1987 after thirty years of service. He later retired from Flight International as Vice President of Administration in 1998 with ten years of service.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War.
Mr. Reinhart was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Leigh Reinhart, in 1977. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Mims Reinhart, formerly of Manning; a son, Gary Dean Reinhart, Jr., of Newport News; two daughters, Donna Reinhart, also of Newport News, and Deana Sharland and husband, Joe, of Vero Beach, Fla; two grandchildren, Brandon Leigh Sharland of Ala., and Ryan Thomas Sharland, of Vero Beach, Fla.; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Leigh Sharland, also of Alabama.
A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2010, in Manning Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul A. Hutchison officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the National Marrow Donor Program, 3001 Broadway St. NE, Suite 100, Minneapolis, MN 55413-1753.
