Eleanor Jane Loar Shirkey - June 8th, 2010
      


MANNING – Eleanor Jane Loar Shirkey, 72, wife of Norman William “Norm” Shirkey, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in Lake Marion Nursing Facility in Summerton.
    Born March 24, 1938, in Steubenville, OH, she was the daughter of the late Columbus Bradford and Mildred Jane Brown Loar.  She was a member of First Assembly of God.
    Surviving in addition to her husband of Manning are a daughter, Drenda Gibson (Del) of Manning; a brother, Robert Loar of Steubenville, OH; two sisters, Ruth Loar Paluch of Steubenville, OH, and Kathie Loar Halsted of Naples, FL; two grandchildren, Janey Ray Gibson and Christine Kay Gibson, both of Manning.
    She was preceded in death by a brother, Clark Loar.
    A memorial service was held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010, at First Assembly of God, 3574 Hwy. 260, Manning, with the Rev. Sam Neal officiating.

Drenda, Del, Janie and Christine, we are so sorry to hear of your loss.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  We are grateful we got to spend time with your mom/grandma a few years ago and have Jake to remind of us that time forever. She is in heaven now surrounded by all the birds in paridise.  We love you all and hope to see you soon.
