Hubert Leffel Taylor, Sr. - April 2nd, 2010


      MANNING – Hubert Leffel “Fet” Taylor, Sr., 87, husband of Esther Irene Ridgeway Taylor, died Friday, April 2, 2010 at his home.
    Born April 29, 1922, in Lexington, SC, he was the son of the late James Andrew and Sarah M. Harmon Taylor. He was a retired farmer, a United States Air Force Veteran of WWII, and a member of Clarendon Baptist Church in Alcolu.
    Surviving in addition to his wife of Manning are a son, James Andrew “Jimmy” Taylor and his wife Mary of Manning; a daughter, Kathy Lee and her husband Gary of Manning; a brother, Thomas L. Taylor of Blythewood; a sister, Margaret Martin of Columbia; five grandchildren, Jody Taylor and his wife Amanda, Curt Lee, Derek Lee and his wife Lauren, Mary Kathryn Lee, and Taylor Lee, all of Manning; two great grandchildren, Anders and Cody Taylor of Manning.
    He was predeceased by a son, Hubert Leffel “Little Fet” Taylor Jr.; and a grandson, James Andrew “Drew” Taylor Jr.
    Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Clarendon Baptist Church in Alcolu, with the Rev. Kirk Carlisle and the Rev. Charles Hattaway officiating.  Burial was in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Jody Taylor, Derek Lee, Curt Lee, Aubrey Johnson, Cary Hattaway, Welborn Brewer, and Johnny Baker.
    Special thanks to caregivers, Lottie Gray, Sarah Parker, Tuomey Hospice, Deb Embry, and Dorothy Richburg.

I will certainly miss Mr. Fet, Pa Pa, and I will never forget all the good times and fish fries we had at work. I learned so much from him and he always treated me like one of his grandsons. May he rest in peace. I know he is having a great reunion in heaven with his loved ones and will suffer no more. With all my Love, Shaun
